Quality Inspector - Electromechanical - Level 2

What to expect:

This position will start as part-time/on-call with full-time potential in the future. You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of motorized solar panel towers. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.

What you’ll do:

You will perform inspection activities, including visual, physical, and dimensional (both in-process and final) of machined, electro-mechanical, and other parts, according to client requirements and specifications. Inspection may consist of, but not be limited to:

Incoming inspection from external providers of products or services/processing.

In-process and final inspection of critical features such as witness inspection.

Compilation of final inspection sign-off sheet and report packages.

Verification that inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects.

Verification that inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent.

Audit and validate the execution of the inspection plan.

Provide weekly reports of manufacturing sites ramp progress, and equipment quality performance of the facility.

Conduct periodic quality audits of the supplier’s factory and provide reports of results.

Drive closure of findings identified as non-conformance.

Ensuring the supplier’s quality control system documents the findings.

Provide customer witness for test scripts, including but not limited to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all equipment.

Be the on-site support representing the client.

What you’ll need:

Experience working with Printed Circuit Board is a must for this position

Physically able to kneel and/or climb a ladder if needed

4+ years of experience in the industry or equivalent

You should possess experience within a technical discipline or extensive technical training.

Be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards

Note: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages)
